Part of the reason I wanted to create this web series was I never see South Asian people on TV. And when I do, they're relegated to being a terrorist or being a gas station owner. Growing up with that is very detrimental, like it makes you feel you don't exist in the world. It makes you feel like you're an anomaly, and you're like by yourself and kind of instills a loneliness you don't even quite realize until something breaks it. And that's kind of the response that we've been getting a lot. Even though there's more shows with people of color, sometimes those shows don't let women of color really occupy a middle ground. They're either like villains or superheroes and that's kind of it. Or they're the broke mom that like is abusive that has one kid on like an episode of whatever. And I think it's not really fair to not allow ourselves to see what we look like when we're mediocre and contradictory and kind of like coasting.SB: no line sun readers This storm wasn’t a blip on the radar, but rather a sign of what’s to come.
